Author Joan-Lluís Lluís received last Friday December 15th, the Sant Jordi 2017 Award, considered the most prestigious and recognized Catalan literary prize. The critics have always seen Lluís as a extraordinary literary voice of a great creative force because, among other reasons, Lluís surprises the reader in each new novel, which is different from the previous and different from the next to come. His narrative ability and command of the language has led him to collect several prizes such as the Lletra d'Or 2014 award for Cròniques d'un déu coix or the Premi de la Crítica Serra d'Or 2016, for El navegant.

The winning novel untitled Jo sóc aquell que va matar Franco (I'm the One Who Killed Franco) presents a shy and one-eyed character that all he wants in life is to read and work as proofreader. He is not someone prepared for war actions, but he will end up taking a weapon to defend his country and change the course of History. Because that is what heroes do, isn't it?
