This May, we are especially delighted to see two works by Asterisc Agents authors brought to the Catalan stage. Sebastià Portell’s The Day David Bowie Died has been adapted for theatre by director Pau Coya, while Carlota Gurt presents A Failed Annihilation (Libido, History and Me), a sharp and darkly humorous stage piece written and performed by the author herself.

The productions reflect the growing reach and vitality of both writers’ work beyond the page. Portell continues to establish himself as one of the most distinctive literary voices of his generation, while Gurt’s latest work has quickly become a critical and audience success, confirming the extraordinary resonance of her writing.

Two singular authors, two very different theatrical experiences, and a joyful reminder that literature keeps finding new lives, new readers and new audiences.
