David Nel·lo has been awarded with the most prestigious novel prize in Catalan, Sant Jordi Award.
 
With more than 40 books published, the author has a long list of awards especially for his children and YA books. In 2017, with Melissa & Nicolehe made a great leap in his adult readership production and received the Prudenci Bertrana award. And now, with the Sant Jordi prize, the definitive consolidation comes.
 
From the winning work, Les amistats traïdes (Betrayed Friendship), the jury has highlighted the originality of the approach and its ability to maintain narrative tension. In the novel we find a translator who has just lost his father and is in a residence for translators in Switzerland when he is visited by an enigmatic family friend, the writer Bachtel, disappeared from the public eye for years.
