All Alone in the City

That night it rained and rained. Around dawn, Dante woke up thinking that a bomb had gone off, and when he realized it was only thunder, he went back to sleep. But when it was time to get up for school, he discovered that his parents and sister were not at home. And when he stepped out onto the balcony, he saw that the streets were deserted: there wasn’t a soul anywhere. Dante had been left alone in the middle of the big city!

How would he manage to survive, if he was only a child? And what were those green spheres hanging in the sky?
