The main character of Una cançó de pluja is named Ella-Calla, and she is the only one of nine orangutans who manages to escape from the ship where they have been imprisoned.

Thus begins a journey to return to her native forest on the island of Borneo. Amid the hum of machines and the electric lights of villages, she is accompanied by the memories of her fellow beings, kind-hearted ghosts and by an ancestral mythology that unfolds under the auspices of two deities: Mother-All and Mother-Jealous, one of whom created the animals, the other the humans.

Until, in the heart of the jungle, Ella-Calla’s journey comes face to face with horror.

After winning the Òmnium Award with Junil, Joan-Lluís Lluís returns with a new modern fable, as only he knows how to write them.
