In a small refuge on the coast, psychiatrist Victor Marçal-Büngeler sends a series of letters to his wife, who he thinks is in New York. He also writes to friends with whom he shared a passion for music, architecture and books, to the daughter of an old lover, to his daughter’s friend and to his mates. Some time earlier Dr. Marçal- Büngeler and his wife had shared a well-organised and secure computer. But one day the devil appears to him and his apparently stable and successful world takes an unstoppable downturn. However, from bad luck and desolation can come contradictions and the fragile light of family values, traditions and lies.
