A hair's breadth from independence

"The country we want" is the chronicle of the process that leads from the gestation of the Catalan Statute of 2006 to the current situation, with the sovereignty in the forefront of the debate in Catalonia. In this book, Vicent Partal -based on his long experience as an international journalist-, also reflects on the different processes of independence that have occurred recently around the world, such as the Baltic countries, Scotland or Quebec. And, finally, he exposes his ideas about the characteristics of an independent Catalonia that he wishes and believes possible. His is an optimistic and practical vision, convinced that the independence of Catalonia is not only possible but will occur within the European Union.
