The Surface Age no longer exists on planet Earth. After the Great Cataclysm, humanity survives buried in hives, elliptical structures with tiny hexagonal cubicles where their inhabitants sleep. Yolanda is a teenager who lives in one of these hives with her daughter and her cousin under the queen's tyranny and the scarcity of water, a good that has become the most precious in the world and for which people is capable of killing. Yolanda knows it; the strange appearance of a corpse triggers a series of events that will make nothing go back to what it was.
