Port of Barcelona, May 1918. Berta Casals is a young woman of twenty who embarks on the transatlantic Queen Victoria Eugenia to Argentina, where she goes to marry Julio Mitchell, a wealthy Patagonia cattle rancher and family friend whom she hardly knows. After the death of her mother, Berta has decided to accept his proposal of marriage to give a new direction to her life, far from a Europe that is bled by the war. During her journey, Berta gets bored with the formalities and rigid rules of first class passenger elitists. His only confidant on the ship will be Irina, because both girls share their rejection of the customs and habits of their fellow passengers, and soon they will be united by a strong friendship. Upon arriving in America, the two friends decide to take a step that will transform their lives forever.

An exciting journey on a transatlantic at the beginning of the 20th century will decide the fate of a young Barcelonian girl.
